For years Komatsu has been bringing new high-tech construction products to the market under the banner of Smart Construction. Now was the time to also digitally transform the market itself through an online platform. But how should an online market for construction solutions and services work? That was the challenge I worked on with Komatsu and their partners.
To come to the solution a lot of time was spent with Komatsu stakeholders to refine how the services and solutions would be offered and how they would be billed. Additionally, interviews with Komatsu clients and partners provided insight into their purchasing concerns and desired services.
An online market for construction services and solutions. Construction companies can hire or buy high-tech machines, coupled with complimenting digital services. At the same time the Komatsu partners have an additional channel to service their existing customer base, and also expand it. My work included the full range of UX, from user research via high fidelity mock-ups to implementation on the web!
